RE:
Request that the Board waive the $420 campaign finance late fee assessed against Gary Duhon, a candidate for St. Mary Parish President, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $420 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 10-G campaign finance report, Gary Duhon, states that his secretary usually files his reports, however, when his 10-G report was due, his secretary was on vacation. He tried to file the report himself, and not being very computer literate, failed to get it through. He further states that he had to wait for his secretary to return from vacation, so that she could file the report for him. Mr. Duhon is a district level candidate. This is his third campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
