In connection with his request for a waiver of the $2,000, $2,000, and $2,000 late fees assessed for the late filings of a 30-P, 10-P, and 10-G campaign finance reports, R. Gray Sexton, counsel on behalf of the committee, states that a $100 contribution by the committee to Greg Clark, a candidate who participated in the October 2, 2010 election is what triggered the committee to file reports in connection with the October 2010 election. He further states that based upon the committee's level of activity and that the PAC has no other late filings, all but $500 of the late fee assessments should be suspended.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed.
