Advisory opinion regarding the application of the post employment restrictions to Stephanie Pedro, a former employee of the Regional Planning Commission.
Facts:
Stephanie Pedro was employed by the Regional Planning Commission as a transportation planner and GIS analyst. Her work included transit, bicycle and pedestrian improvement project manager, demographic and economic estimate and projection development for the New Orleans region. Ms. Pedro submitted her resignation in April 2010.

The Regional Planning Commission has received a proposal from a team comprised of three companies including DADCO Consulting Services, Inc. with whom Ms. Pedro's company, Vinici, LLC would be serving as a contract associate.

Law:
La. R.S. 42:1121B prohibits a public servant, for a period of two years following the termination of his public employment, from rendering any service which such former public employee rendered to the agency during the term of his public employment on a contractual basis, regardless of the parties to the contract, to, for, or on behalf of the agency with which he was formerly employed.
La. R.S. 42:1121B prohibits a former public servant, for two years, from assisting another person, for compensation, in a transaction in which she participated during her public employment and which involves the governmental entity.

Recommendations:
Adopt proposed advisory opinion.
