RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,740 campaign finance late fee assessed against Brian Thompson, a candidate for Rapides Parish Clerk of Court, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 29 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $1,740 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 10-G campaign finance report, Brian Thompson states that since this was his first campaign, he retained the services of a CPA to handle the filing of his reports. He further states that all deadlines were calendered and he submitted all of his records to his CPA prior to every deadline, however, his CPA failed to timely file his 10-G report. Mr. Thompson is a district level candidate. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
