Cody Conarro states that he has applied for a position with the Southeastern Louisiana University Upward Bound program. He is currently dating the assistant director for the program, Wendy Stevens. Mr. Conarro states that he has 19 years of experience with the Upward Bound Program. He states that Ms. Stevens can make recommendations for hiring seasonal program staff. However, she is not responsible for supervising the position he is applying for.

Section 1102 of the Code defines immediate family of a public servant as the spouse, children, parents, siblings, and in-laws of a public servant.
Section 1112B(1) of the Code prohibits a public employee from participating in transactions in which a member of their immediate family has a substantial economic interest.
Section 1119A of the Code prohibits a immediate family member of an agency head from being employed in his agency.
