RE:
Request that the Board waive the $280 campaign finance late fee assessed against Jason Crockett, a candidate for Morehouse Police Juror, District 5 in the October 22, 2011 election, whose Supplemental campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $280 late fee assessed for the late filing of a Supplemental campaign finance report, Jason Crockett, states that his failure to timely file his Supplemental report was caused by his misunderstanding that having been unopposed in the October 22, 2011 election, the Candidate's Report he filed in September of 2011 was the final report required of him to file. He further states that because he was not required to stand for re-election in the Fall of 2011 and had less than $10.00 in his campaign account, he did not realize he was obligated to file a Supplemental report. Mr. Crocket maintains that upon receipt of notice from the Campaign Finance division, he immediately filed his report. Mr. Crocket ask that the Board waive a portion of all of the assessed late fees. Mr. Crockett is an any other level candidate. This is his second campaign.
