The candidate states in his correspondence of February 7, 2012, that it is his desire to appeal the $240 late fee assessment. This matter was forwarded to the EAB for an appeal. However, while speaking with the candidate during a scheduled telephone conference with the EAB, the candidate expressed that he meant to request a waiver of his $240 late fee assessment. The candidate will address the Board at the meeting regarding his request for a waiver. Mr. Mellieon is an any other level candidate. This is his first campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed.
