Attorney General Opinion regarding the Board of Ethics' authority to enter into consent opinions.
Comments:
The Board requested the opinion from the Attorney General's Office.

The Attorney General Opinion concludes that the Board has the authority to enter into consent opinions, stating in pertinent part that "the Board of Ethics has the authority to approve and perfect a binding consent opinion with a person who has allegedly violated laws under the jurisdiction of the Board of Ethics, and has the authority to sign that consent opinion without the concurrence of the Ethics Adjudicatory Board."
