In connection with his request for a reconsideration of the waiver of the $1,500 late fee assessed for the late filing of the 40-G campaign finance report, John "Randy" R. Sexton, states that during the time the report was due, he had an ongoing family emergency that required his attention. He ask that the Board review his first request and reconsider its decision to decline his request for a waiver. Mr. Sexton is a district level candidate. This is his sixth campaign. He was a successful candidate.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed. 52:1205B(1) provides that the staff of the Board shall rescind an assessed late fee of the candidate where an immediate family member of the person responsible for filing of the reports has died on the date the report was due or seven days prior to the due date of the report (2)or a serious medical condition prevented the responsible report preparer from preparing the reports.
