Reconsideration of a request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Russell E. Evans, a candidate for Sheriff of Evangeline Parish, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 56 days late. |

In connection with his request for a reconsideration of a waiver of the $600 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 30-P campaign finance report, Russell E. Evans, maintains that he is a disabled Vietnam war veteran. He gets around in an electric wheelchair provided by the VA. He maintains that his family moved from Metairie to Turkey Creek after they lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, and he was trying to get a job that he could possibly do. He did not understand the filing requirements and was unsure of how to complete his paperwork. His family is on a fixed income and would appreciate it if the Board can forgive his mistake and waive the late fee. Mr. Evans is a district level candidate. This is his second campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
