RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Herman R. Love, a candidate for Sheriff of Sabine Parish, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 133 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $600 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 10-G campaign finance report, Herman R. Love, states that he misunderstood filing requirements for filing the 10-G report. He further states that he initially thought that if he was not in the primary election, he did not need to submit a report. Once he became aware of the requirement to file, he immediately filed a report. He maintains that he only has $116 in his campaign account, and would gladly surrender the amount if the remaining amount of his late fee is waived. Mr. Love is a district level candidate. This is his fourth campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
