RE:
Request that the Board waive the $420 campaign finance late fee assessed against Mike Goss, a candidate for Acadia Parish Assessor, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose Supplemental campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $420 late fee assessed for the late filing of a Supplemental campaign finance report, Mike Goss, states that his report was untimely filed due to a misunderstanding as to the requirement of two separate reports for two campaigns held one year apart (2010 and 2011 campaigns). He further states that he filed an Annual and Supplemental report which disclosed his activity for both campaigns. However, he needed to amend several reports to reflect activity by each campaign and to clearly define the activity by the year it occurred and for each election. Mr. Goss is a district level candidate. This is his second campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
