RE:
Request that the Board waive the $400 campaign finance late fee assessed against Leonard Johnson, a candidate for Vernon Parish Police Juror, District 7, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 195 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $400 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 10-P campaign finance report, Leonard Johnson states that he was unaware of the requirement to file his report. It was his understanding that if he was not in the run off election, he did not need to file a 10-G report. Mr. Johnson further states that the late fee would present a hardship for himself and his family and ask that the Board waive the late fee. Mr. Johnson is an any other level candidate. This is his sixth campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
