RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 late fee assessed against Ronald L. Rodgers, Jr., a candidate for State Representative, District 63, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose EDE-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 234 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $600 late fee assessed for the late filing of an EDE-P campaign finance report, Ronald L. Rodgers, Jr., states that he is a first time candidate who misunderstood the filing requirements for filing the EDE-P report. He believed that a report was not required, if no funds were received or spent on election day. He further states that all of his reports for 2011 were filed via paper form. He filed his last report in January 2012, unaware he was required to electronically file the report. He states that he had to order internet services in order to download the LEADER software and file his report. Mr. Rodgers states that had he been aware of the new filing requirements prior to the effective date, he would have electronically filed his report on time. Mr. Rodgers is a district level candidate. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
