Advisory opinion regarding Daniel Veals providing services to Secure Nation while it has a contract with Louisiana Housing Finance Association (LHFA) and his father, Danny Veals, serves as LHFA's IT Director. |

Danny Veals is the IT Director for LHFA. Mr. Veals selected Secure Nation to perform computer services at LHFA. Secure Nation accepted resumes for new computer technicians to fulfill computer services at state agencies, including LHFA. Mr. Veals son, Daniel Veals, was hired as a part-time apprentice while he completes his Information Systems degree at LSU.

R.S. 42:1113A states no public servant, or a member of such a public servant's immediate family, or a legal entity in which he has a controlling interest shall bid on or enter into any contract, subcontract or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant.
