RE:
Advisory opinion regarding whether the Medical Director, Dr. Casey McVea, of the Rayburn Correctional Facility is prohibited from being employed with the entity that may be engaged to manage the prison facility, if state prisons are privatized.
Facts:
Dr. Casey McVea is the Medical Director at Rayburn Correctional Center. For the past several years, there has been efforts made by the State Administration to privatize certain state prisons. Dr. McVea is seeking an opinion regarding whether he would be prohibited from applying for the same position with the entity that enters into a contract to manage the facility where he currently works.

Law:

La. R.S. 42:1121B prohibits a former public servant, for two years, from assisting another person, for compensation, in a transaction in which she participated during her public employment and which involves the governmental entity.
