In connection with her request for a waiver of the $3,000 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 10-G campaign finance report, Angela Alexander, Legislative Assistant to Rep. Patrick Williams and on behalf of the committee, states that the report was untimely filed due to a misunderstanding and information she received from the campaign finance division. She further states that when she called to inquire about filing instructions for the 10-G report, she was told that a report was not required if Rep. Williams was not in the race or running unopposed. After receiving notice from the Campaign Finance division, she made a call to inquire about the notice. She spoke with a compliance officer, and was told that if the committee was in support of a candidate in the election, the committee was required to file a report. Ms. Alexander maintains that she was misinformed and asks that the Board waive the late fee.
