Advisory opinion regarding whether a company owned by Jane Anders may transact buisness with the Allen Parish Police Jury while she serves as a member of the Allen Parish Library Board of Control.
Facts:
Jane Anders is a member of the Allen Parish Library Board of Control. The library is under the governance of the parish police jury.

Ms. Anders and her family own a business which sells Kubota tractors and lawn equipment.

Law:
La. R.S. 42:1113B prohibits an appointed member of a board or commission, his immediate family member, or a legal entity in which they have a substantial economic interest, from entering into or being in any way interested in a transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the board or commission.

Recommendations:
Adopt proposed advisory opinion.
