Advisory opinion regarding Homer Sullivan a full time firefighter in Plain Dealing running for Mayor and remaining a Firefighter.
Facts:
Mr. Homer Sullivan wrote the Attorney Generals Office and asked about dual office holding and nepotism. The Attorney Generals office forwarded the request to the Board. Secretary of State website shows qualifying for the Plain Dealings Mayor's race is over and Mr. Sullivan did not qualify. Mr. Sullivan in the only full time Fire Fighter in Plain Dealings. As a full time employee Mr. Sullivan has health insurance and he cannot afford to loose his health insurance so he was requesting an opinion on whether or not he could hold both positions if he was elected Mayor of Plaint Dealings. The Mayor of Plain Dealings is a part-time position. Mr. Sullivan further inquired about a potential conflict of interest since his wife is the Clerk for the Water Board. There was no information on how long his wife had been the Clerk of the Water Board.

Decline to render an opinion.
