Advisory opinion request regarding whether Douglas J. LaCombe may be employed by the Acadia Parish Assessor's Office and the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court while serving on the Acadia Parish School Board.
Facts:
Douglas J. LaCombe is currently a member of the Acadia Parish School Board. He would like to apply for a job with the Acadia Parish Assessor's Office and the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court.
Law:
Section 1113A(1)(a) of the Code prohibits public servants, their immediate family members, or legal entities in which they have a controlling interest, from entering into any contract, subcontract, or other transaction that is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public servant.
Recommendations:
Adopt the proposed advisory opinion.
