Section 1115 of the Code of Governmental Ethics prohibits a public servant from soliciting or accepting any thing of economic value as a gift or gratuity from a person who has or is seeking to have a contractual or other business or financial relationship with his agency.
Section 1111A of the Code further states that a public servant may not receive any thing of economic value other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position.
Section 1117 of the Code prohibits a person from giving a thing of economic value which a public servant is prohibited from receiving.
Section 1116A of the Code prohibits a coercion or compulsion by a public servant to require another to make a contribution to the purchase of the gift.
