In connection with his request for a waiver of the $480 late fee assessed for the late filing of an EDE-P campaign finance report, Charles R. "Charlie" Brown states that in November his campaign finance report was timely mailed. Subsequently, he received notice from the Campaign Finance division that his report had not been received. Upon receipt of the notice, he immediately filed a report. Mr. Brown further states that this is his third term in office and he has never experienced this situation. Mr. Brown maintains that he did timely mail the report and ask that the late fee be waived. Mr. Brown is an any other level candidate. This is his fifth campaign.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty as provided in R.S.42:1157 for each day until such report is filed.
