Advisory opinion request from a St. Charles Parish School Board member, Mr. Alex Suffrin, inquiring about employment as an Executive Director of the State Board of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) of Louisiana. |

Mr. Suffrin, is a member of the St. Charles Parish School Board and was considering an opportunity to become the Executive Director of the State Board of CPAs of Louisiana which is a licensing agency designed to promote the reliability of the public accounting practice in the state.
Mr. Suffrin no longer needs an opinion since he decided not to accept the position with the State Board of CPAs since it generally appeared to be incompatible with the holding of local elective office, and he did not want to resign his position as board member of the St. Charles Parish public schools.
