Attached to this item is a draft letter for the Board consideration along with the Rhode Island statute referred to in the letter, as well the documents considered by the Board last month, which included the 2012 recommendation letter and the recommendations suggested by staff

At its January 17, 2013 meeting, the Board instructed the staff to draft a letter for its consideration focusing on the following four areas of law: 1) definition of public employee in the Code of Governmental Ethics; 2) appropriate use of campaign funds in the Campaign Finance Disclosure Act with reference to Rhode Island's statute; 3) reporting requirements for political committees; and, 4) the confidential and privileged nature of documents and sound recordings of the Board's executive session.
