RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Milton Gordon, a candidate for Alexandria City Council, in the November 6, 2012 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 20 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $600 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 30-P campaign finance report, Milton Gordon, states that he was working full-time, as well as attending school full-time, while campaigning for office. He further states that there were individuals who promised to help him during the campaign, however, they never came forward. Campaigning and studying for his classes were pretty hectic, but he did well in school. He made the Dean's List and received the Ebony Scholarship Award. He is unable to pay the $600 late fee, and ask that the Board waive the late fee, or allow him to pay the late fee in installments. Mr. Gordon is a district level candidate. This is his first campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
