R.S. 42:1134J provides that the Louisiana Board of Ethics "shall make recommendations to the governor and the legislature for revisions in the Code of Governmental Ethics and other legislation relating to the conduct of public servants and other persons subject to the provisions of this Chapter who are within its jurisdiction."
Historically, the Louisiana Board of Ethics has reviewed proposed legislation and voted to either support, oppose, or take no position with respect to legislation that affects the laws administered by the board.
