RE:
Advisory opinion request from Col. Russel Bordelon, Secretary of the Louisiana Polygraph Board regarding whether it would violate the Ethics Code if The Louisiana Polygraph Board were to grant tuition assistance for its members to attend continuing education classes hosted by the Louisiana Polygraph Association.
Facts:
Col. Bordelon has stated that the law requires each licensed polygrapher in Louisiana to attend 20 hours of continuing education every two years. In previous years there were no continuing educations classes offered in the state. The Louisiana State Polygraph Association is planning on hosting continuing education classes in the state. The Louisiana Polygraph Board would like to offer tuition assistance to all of the licensed member who want to attend the classes offered by The Louisiana Polygraph Association. The tuition assistance would be the same amount for all licensed members.
Recommendations:
Adopt draft opinion.
