RE:
Advisory opinion request from Todd Owen regarding whether an Orleans Parish School Board member can also be a vendor for the school system.
Facts:
Todd Owen has asked if an elected Orleans Parish School Board member's company may be a vendor within the Orleans Parish School System or Orleans Parish Charter School System or the Recovery District Charter School system.
Todd Owen from Jefferson Parish has stated that he has no relationship with the Orleans Parish School Board.

Law:
Section 601A of the Board Rules provide The board shall receive request for advisory opinions filed with it by affected persons. Request shall be in writing, state the name and address of the person requesting the advisory opinion, disclose the interest in the question presented state the governmental agency and /or the individual involved, specifically describe the transaction involved, be signed by the person making the request , and state sufficient facts to enable the board to respond. The board may decline to render an opinion with regard to any such request.

Recommendations:
Decline to render.
