Advisory opinion regarding post-employment restrictions applicable to Kerry Williams, a former employee of the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). |

Mr. Williams has withdrawn his advisory opinion request.
Mr. Williams has decided to wait until August 1, 2013 to apply for any DOTD engineering projects. Mr. Williams was employed by DOTD for 32 years. He retired on August 1, 2011 as the Western Area Engineer in district 4 by DOTD. He is the owner of Cercontec LLC. Cercontec is a construction and Engineering firm in Shreveport Louisiana. Cercontec is licensed in highway and bridge construction. He served as an agency head for maintenance and operations in Caddo Parish. Mr. Williams did not bid on the project referenced in his opinion request.

R.S. 42:1121A(1) No former agency head shall, for a period of two years following the termination of his public service as the head of such agency, assist another person, for compensation, in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction involving that agency or render any service on a contractual basis to or fro such agency.
