Ethics Board Docket No. 2019-820 <br /> Ms. Melissa Kirsch <br /> October 22, 2019 <br /> Page 2 <br /> La. R.S. 42:1170A(3)(a)(i) Commencing on January 1, 2012, each public servant shall receive a <br /> minimum of one hour of education and training on the Code of Governmental Ethics during each <br /> year of his public employment or term of office as the case may be. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> The Board concluded,and instructed me to inform you,that the Code of Governmental Ethics would <br /> require persons appointed to the First Planning District Workforce Development Board as Advisory <br /> Members to file annual Personal Financial Disclosure Statements pursuant to La.R.S.42:1124.2.1. <br /> In addition,the Board concluded,and instructed me to inform you,that as Advisory Members of the <br /> First Planning District Workforce Development Board, the Advisory Members are performing a <br /> governmental function;therefore,the Advisory Members would be required to take the annual Ethics <br /> training pursuant to La. R.S. 42:11170. <br /> This advisory opinion is based solely on the facts as set forth herein. Changes to the facts as <br /> presented may result in a different application of the provisions of the Code of Ethics. The Board <br /> issues no opinion as to past conduct or as to laws other than the Code of Governmental Ethics.
