period of two years following the Councilman's retirement, the Councilman cannot be appointed <br /> to any position by the Springhill City Council, including a position as a board member for the <br /> North Webster Parish Industrial District. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you, that the Code of Governmental Ethics <br /> prohibits a retired Springhill City Councilman from being appointed by the City Council to any <br /> position, for a period of two years following the Councilman's date of retirement. <br /> This advisory opinion is based solely on the facts as set forth herein. Changes to the facts as <br /> presented may result in a different application of the provisions of the Code of Governmental <br /> Ethics.
