Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-767 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> 4. <br /> After school hours,Patricia Reeves instructed a private acting class called Acting Intensive, <br /> a rigorous training on how to be an actor, once a week and not on school property. <br /> 5. <br /> According to the "Acting Intensive" registration form, the cost for 8th grade students <br /> through 12th grade for six sessions was $150.00, or students could pay $35.00 per session. <br /> 8. <br /> Ms. Reeves received funds from Caddo Magnet High School students,parents of students, <br /> or guardians for the provision of acting services. Between October 11, 2019 through December <br /> 13, 2019, Ms. Reeves received $3,673.90 for the provision of acting classes to her students after <br /> hours. <br /> 9. <br /> If called to testify, Patricia Reeves would state that she did not intend to violate the Ethics <br /> Code. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 1. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1111C(1)(a)prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic <br /> value for any service, the subject matter of which is devoted substantially to the <br /> responsibilities, programs, or operations of the agency of the public servant and in which <br /> the public servant has participated. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1153B Upon a determination that any public employee or other person has <br /> violated any provision of any law within the jurisdiction of the Board of Ethics except <br /> violations of the Campaign Finance Disclosure Act which shall be governed by Chapter 11 <br /> of Title 18 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,the Ethics Adjudicatory Board may <br /> remove, suspend, or order a reduction in pay, or demotion of the public employee or other <br /> person, or impose a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars, or both. <br />
