Caption
The Code of Governmental Ethics does not prohibit Phillip Martin's employer from entering into a contract with the Lafourche Parish School Board while his son, Jarod Martin, serves as its Superintendent, nor does it prohibit Jarod Martin from participating in the contract, but it does require Phillip Martin to file a financial disclosure report annually with the Ethics Board while his employer contracts with his son's agency.

Contract. Accordingly, you are not prohibited from participating in the Subject Contract, and no <br /> disqualification plan is requited. <br /> Pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1114, each immediate family member of a public servant who derives any <br /> thing of economic value through a person which has bid on or entered into any contract, <br /> subcontract, or any transaction under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such public <br /> servant shall disclose certain information as set forth in Section 1114. Accordingly, if Phillip <br /> Martin receives compensation from the Company while the Company has business under the <br /> supervision or jurisdiction of the School Board, he is required to file financial disclosures as <br /> required under La. R.S. 42:1114. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you, that the Code does not prohibit the <br /> Company from entering into the Subject Contract with the School Board and does not prohibit you <br /> from participating in the Subject Contract. Also, for compensation Phillip Martin receives from <br /> the Company, he is required to file disclosure reports annually disclosing his income from the <br /> Company. The forms for such financial disclosure can be found on the Board's website at <br /> www.ethics.Ia..gov. <br /> Changes to the facts as presented may result in a different application of the provisions of the <br /> Louisiana Code of Governmental Ethics.
