LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> RE: IN THE MATTER OF BOARD NO: 2024-113 <br /> THOMAS D. DURRETT,JR. <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics ("BOE"), pursuant to the authority contained in the <br /> Louisiana Code of Governmental Ethics ("Ethics Code"), La. R.S. 42:1101, et. seq., and <br /> particularly Section 1141, conducted a confidential investigation concerning information that <br /> Thomas D. Durrett, Jr. ("Tommy Durrett"), in his capacity as the Public Works Director for the <br /> Union Parish Police Jury, may have violated Section 1115A(1) of the Ethics Code by virtue of <br /> accepting of a thing of economic value as a gift or gratuity from an employee of Ergon Asphalt& <br /> Emulsions, Inc. at a time when Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. had or was seeking to obtain a <br /> contractual, other business, or financial relationship with Union Parish Police Jury. On the basis <br /> of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of Tommy Durrett,the <br /> BOE and Tommy Durrett enter into this Consent Opinion as follows: <br /> I. <br /> PARTIES: <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Thomas D. Durrett, Jr., a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the <br /> Parish of Claiborne with a last known mailing address of 14346 Highway 2 Alt, <br /> Unit 2, Bernice, Louisiana 71222-3412; and <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics, an agency of the State of Louisiana, whose <br /> mailing address is P.O. Box 4368, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70821. <br />
