Caption
The Code of Governmental Ethics does not prohibit Phillip Martin's employer from entering into a contract with the Lafourche Parish School Board while his son, Jarod Martin, serves as its Superintendent, nor does it prohibit Jarod Martin from participating in the contract, but it does require Phillip Martin to file a financial disclosure report annually with the Ethics Board while his employer contracts with his son's agency.

Your father, Phillip Martin, is currently employed by D.A. Davidson & Co., Inc. (the <br /> ",Company"). Your father does not own any interest in the Company. <br /> The School Board is considering entering into a contract with the Company (the "Subject <br /> Contract"). Your father would not provide any services related to the Subject Contract, and would <br /> not receive anv commissions or bonuses related to the Subject Contract. <br /> You would like to know whether the School Board can enter into the Subject Contract with the <br /> Company, and whether you would be required to submit a disqualification plan. <br /> LAW <br /> Lai. R.S. 42:1 I12B(1) states that no public servant shall participate in a transaction involving the <br /> governmental entity in which, to his actual knowledge, any member of his immediate family has <br /> a substantial economic interest. <br /> La.
