Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-701 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> 2021. Pursuant to La. R.S. 33:404(A)(3), such hiring was subject to approval of the Board of <br /> Aldermen of the Town. <br /> 6. <br /> At the August 5, 2021 meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town, Tameka Ford's <br /> hiring was approved by a majority vote. Darryl Ford abstained from such vote. <br /> 7. <br /> Tameka Ford was terminated as Town Clerk effective October 25, 2021. <br /> 8. <br /> As the Town Clerk, Tameka Ford received compensation totaling $5,860.25. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 9. <br /> Section 1119B of the Ethics Code provides no member of the immediate family of a <br /> member of a governing authority or the chief executive of a governmental entity shall be employed <br /> by the governmental entity. Section 1119B of the Ethics Code provides in pertinent part: <br /> §1119. Nepotism <br /> B(1)No member of the immediate family of a member of a governing authority or the chief <br /> executive of a governmental entity shall be employed by the governmental entity. <br /> 10. <br /> The following terms are defined in Section 1102 of the Code and are relevant when <br /> analyzing the above Sections: <br /> (9) defines "elected official" to mean any person holding an office in a <br /> governmental entity which is filled by the vote of the appropriate electorate. <br />
