Ethics Board Docket No.2022-002 <br /> Page 4 of <br /> Urban Development grants, an arrangement made possible through a cooperative endeavor <br /> agreement(which has since ended)between the City-Parish and BBR. <br /> 12. <br /> Ms.Muse-Morris acknowledged that some of the duties she performed under contract with <br /> BBR were also those performed as a BBR employee. She agreed to continue making submittals <br /> through MUNIS because no one else at the agency knew how to work the system. <br /> 13. <br /> A form 1099 NEC issued by BBR to Ms. Muse-Morris reported a nonemployee <br /> compensation of$25,781.25. <br /> 14. <br /> Mr. Tyson acknowledged signing the contract and the Extension but stated that BBR self- <br /> reported that it may have violated the Code of Ethics. As soon as the potential violation was <br /> brought to his attention, Mr. Tyson terminated the contract. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 15. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1121B(1) provides that no former public employee shall, for a period of two <br /> years following the termination of his public employment,assist another person,for compensation, <br /> in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction in which such former public <br /> employee participated at any time during his public employment and involving the governmental <br /> entity by which he was formerly employed, or for a period of two years following termination of <br /> his public employment, render, any service which such former public employee had rendered to <br />
