' r <br /> LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> CONSENT OPINION <br /> BD NO: 2017-1404 <br /> RE: IN THE MATTER OF BRIAN POPE <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics (the "BOE"), pursuant to the authority contained in the <br /> Louisiana Code of Governmental Ethics (the "Ethics Code"), La. R.S. 42:1101, et. seq., and <br /> particularly Section 1141 of the Ethics Code, conducted a confidential investigation concerning <br /> information that Brian Pope, in his capacity as City Marshal, City Court, City of Lafayette, Parish <br /> of Lafayette may have violated Section 1111A of the Ethics Code by virtue of receiving <br /> compensation in the form of City Marshal funds to which he was not duly entitled to receive for <br /> the performance of his job duties. <br /> On the basis of information obtained during the investigation, and with the concurrence of <br /> Brian Pope,the BOE and Brian Pope enter into this Consent Opinion as follows: <br /> I. <br /> PARTIES: <br /> The Parties hereto are: <br /> Brian Pope, a person of the full age of majority, domiciled in the Parish of <br /> Lafayette, Louisiana with a last known address of 100 Ruby Street, <br /> Lafayette,Louisiana 70508; and <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics, a Louisiana State agency domiciled in <br /> East Baton Rouge Parish whose mailing address is P.O. Box 4368, Baton <br /> Rouge, Louisiana 70821. <br />
