Ethics Board Docket No. 2022-413 <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br /> V. <br /> OPINION: <br /> It is the opinion of the BOE that Michael Arthur violated La. R.S. 42: 1111(A)(1)(a) when <br /> he received payments from East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office for time he spent working for the <br /> Dillard's Department Store while also on duty for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office <br /> In this particular matter,the parties have agreed to resolve this matter amicably. Therefore, <br /> it is the conclusion of the BOE that the interests of the public and judicial efficiency would be <br /> served through the publication of this Consent Opinion with the imposition of a $1,200 civil <br /> penalty against Michael Arthur. <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER: <br /> IT IS ORDERED Michael Arthur violated La. R.S. 42: 1111(A)(1)(a) when he received <br /> payment from East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office for time he spent working for the DiIlard's <br /> Department Store while also on duty for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office. <br /> IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a$1,200 civil penalty,payable to the Treasurer of the <br /> State of Louisiana, be imposed upon Michael Arthur, that in the event of a failure to pay, a suit <br /> may be filed to compel immediate payment of any balance due. <br /> [Signatures on the following page] <br />
