Consent opinion regarding former White Castle Mayor, Maurice Brown, who was involved in and convicted during "Operation Blighted Official." |

Mr. Brown has signed the opinion which concludes in violations of La. R.S. 42:1111A, 1111C(2)(d) and 1115.

La. R.S. 42:1111A prohibits a public employee from receiving anything of economic value other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position.
Section 1115 prohibits a public servant from receiving any thing of economic value as a gift or gratuity to someone who has or seeks a business, contractual or financial relationship with the public servant's agency.
Section 1111C(2)(d) prohibits a public servant from performing compensated services for a person that seeks a business relationship with his agency.
