RE:
Waiver request submitted by Fred Loren Schroeder, a former member of the St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection - District 8, regarding a $1,500 late fee assessed for filing his 2013 Tier 2.1 annual PFD 207 days late.
Facts:
Mr. Schroeder states that he had served on the district board for approximately nine years when his service ended on May 8, 2013. Because his service ended before the PFD deadline, he believed he was not required to file a statement. However, Mr. Schroeder did file his 2012 Tier 2.1 pfd timely on May 9, 2013, the day after his resignation.

Mr. Schroeder also states that the imposition of a late fee would cause a financial hardship. He states that he is in default on his home mortgage and is having difficulty paying his other bills including his car note and student loans for his daughter. Mr. Schroeder submitted a notice from his mortgage company.
