| Advisory opinion request by Sharon Green regarding whether she may accept employment with Wiley College while being employed by Southern University Shreveport (SUSLA). |

Wiley College is private, historically black college located in East Texas that does not have nor is it seeking a contractual, business, or other financial relationship with SUSLA. Sharon Green is a full-time faculty member at SUSLA teaching Allied Health. She teaches classes that are either face-to-face, on-line, or night classes. There would be no conflict in hours worked at either SUSLA and Wiley College, as she would work forty hours with SUSLA and then six hours with Wiley College. The subject matters taught would be different, as Ms. Green would teach two classes in Psychology at Wiley College.

La. R.S. 42:1111A of the Code of Ethics prohibits public servants from receiving anything of economic value, other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position.
