Proposed changes to the Rules for the Louisiana Board of Ethics concerning the procedures to certify third-parties to provide training. |

Given the use of virtual training medians to provide the requisite ethics training, the proposed changes allow certified ethics trainers to use virtual training and account for attendance by individuals taking such training.

R.S. 42:1170 provides that the annual ethics training requirement "may be received either in person or via the Internet through the training and education materials designed by the board pursuant to R.S. 42:1134."
R.S. 42:1134 provides that the board may adopt rules to carry out the provisions and purposes of the Code of Governmental Ethics.

Instruct the staff to promulgate the proposed rules.
