Ms. Mayers stated that in addition to the referenced health problems in July and August, during the period of October 15 - November 12, 2020, she was undergoing a 90 day check up with her physicians for tests and medicine adjustments. Her treating physician provided a note and documentation to excuse her from all activities until November 16, 2020. She was able to finalize her September 2020 Lobbying Expenditure Report on November 12, 2020. Ms. Mayers stated that she should not be prohibited from meeting future deadlines.

La R.S. 24:55 and 49:76 provide that registered lobbyists shall file a monthly expenditure reports by the 25th day of the subsequent month.
Section 1205B of the Rules for the Louisiana Board of Ethics provides that "[a]n automatic late fee shall not be assessed, and if one is assessed shall be rescinded by the staff, if the person required to file the report did not file the report for any of the following reasons which occurred on the due date or during the 14 days prior to the date the report was due: . . . 2. serious medical condition, in the considered judgment of the staff, which prevented the person required to file or the person regularly responsible from filing the report timely."
