Jeff Oglesbee request a waiver and states the following:
Prior to his qualifying for reelection, he contacted the Board of Ethics to inquire if he would need to file any campaign finance disclosure reports if he was unopposed and his only expenditure was the qualifying fee. He was informed that he would need to file at least one report following qualification. When qualifying, he was provided a campaign finance disclosure packet which indicated that he was a district level candidate. Based upon that information and his prior conversation with the Board of Ethics, he erroneously concluded that he needed to file a 30-P report. Once he received the indication that the 90-P report was overdue, he contacted the Board of Ethics to inquire about the report and was advised that he needed to immediately file the 90-P report.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed.
