George Ledet, Jr. was appointed by the Lafourche Parish Council as a member of the Lafourche Parish Communications District Board of Commissioners ("District Board"). The District maintains and operates the emergency 911 communications system. Mr. Ledet maintains a private legal practice. As part of his practice, Mr. Ledet handles criminal defense matters. On occasion, emergency 911 recordings are obtained through discovery from the local District Attorney's office. Mr. Ledet stated that he has never made a request for a recording to the Communications District. He also stated that he has never paid for a copy of a recording on behalf of a client. Finally, Mr. Ledet stated that whenever a 911 recording has been introduced, it has never been controverted in court.
