Nyka Scott, Chairperson for PAC, requests a waiver and states the following:
Mary Martin, a former employee who filed the PAC's reports, advised that she spoke to someone at Ethics at the time of the delayed filing. She explained that Baker Donelson was one of the first businesses in the State of LA to close due to Covid 19. She said the PAC has been diligent about timely filing its monthly campaign finance disclosures. Additionally her firm was dealing with one of the first known cases of Covid in the state and they closed all their offices around the time of the filing deadline and all employees were working from home. Any late filing was simply an oversight.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed.

Suspend all but $500 based on future compliance. The $500 is payable within 20 days and if payment is not received within 20 days, the full amount of the late fee becomes due and owing.
