RE:
Waiver request submitted by Barbara "Jeanie" David, successful candidate for Aldermen / Village of Grosse Tete (Pop. 548) / Iberville Parish in the November 3, 2020 election, regarding a $50 late fee assessed for filing her 2019 Tier 3 candidate pfd 2 days late.
Facts:
Barbara "Jeanie" David stated she always mails her disclosures in a timely manner, but due to the Covid-19 Pandemic shutdown in March 2020, she assumes her disclosures were lost in the mail. After she received the Notice to Amend, she attempted to fax the missing information to the BOE. She attached a copy of her fax transmittal confirmation which shows the date of April 12, 2021 for her Annual Tier 3 PFD and April 21, 2021 for her Candidate Tier 3 PFD. Ms. David stated she does not feel that she should be penalized for being late with this report because this all began with the 2020 Covid shutdown.
