RE:
Waiver request submitted by Herbert "Ripp" Rippeon, an unsuccessful candidate for Basile Board of Alderman (Pop. 1,214) / District 2, Acadia and Evangeline Parishes in the November 3, 2020 election, regarding a $500 late fee assessed for failing to file his amended 2019 Tier 3 candidate pfd.
Facts:
Kirby Gauthier, attorney for Mr. Rippeon, submitted a waiver for the following reasons: Mr. Gauthier stated Mr. Rippeon suffered a massive stroke following a surgery on January 4, 2021. He has been incapacitated ever since. He is very limited in what activities he can do and what he understands. Mr. Rippeon has been a hard working member of Louisiana society throughout his life and currently is unable to work. Mr. Gauthier is asking the Ethics Board to waive Mr. Rippeon's late fee.
