Request that the Board waive a $1,400 campaign finance late fee assessed against Patricia Boyd Robertson, an unsuccessful candidate for Clerk, Criminal District Court, Orleans Parish, in the November 13, 2021 election, whose 90-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 14 days late. |
|
Patricia Boyd Robertson requests a waiver and states the following:
When she went to open a campaign account on June 1, 2021 and was told they could not open her account until after she qualified for the election, which was not until July 14-16, 2021. She needed to pay for signs and other expenses so she paid those herself and did not realize that it would be considered as a loan to her campaign. She planned to pay the expenses from the campaign when the account was opened. She did not learn that a campaign finance report was due until July 26, 2021 and filed the 90th day to Primary Report on the following business day, July 29, 2021. She has hired an experienced report preparer for future reporting.
